Main structure
3. 1 Structure composition
The main structure of the machine is composed of backplane, front and rear stand, front and rear frame, worm gear box, frame, turret, upper support block and control cabinet.(see figure 1)
The bottom plate, front and rear stand, front and rear frame, frame and worm gear box are connected by bolts to
form a fixed frame, forming the foundation of the tablet press, and the worm gear box is fixed on the frame.On the basis of the worm gear box, the functional parts of the tablet press machine are installed on the machine seat, such as filling and dosing mechanism, lower punch protection device, lower punch pre-press roller, main press roller
adjusting mechanism,ejection cam, filling cam, lower punch protection cam and tooling disassembling block.
The upper supporting block connects the turret and upper cam carrier with the frame through the left and right
column tie rods and the tie rod passing through the center of the spindle, forming a stable three-column frame
structure, which has a strong anti-bending and anti-torsion ability to meet the bearing requirements of high-speed tablet press machine when it is running at high speed.The supporting block is equipped with cam carrier, upper
pre-press roller, upper main press roller, upper punch tight protection device, etc.An anti-vibration plate is

installed between the upper roof and the supporting block.The four sides of the upper roof are equipped with four glass windows, each of which is equipped with a gas spring to provide a supporting tension force for each glass  door.
The upper part of the tablet press is a pressing chamber, which is the part of the whole pressing process. It
includes the forced feeding system, turret, ejection device and dust absorption system. The pressing chamber is sealed by the top plate, cover plate and glass door through the sealing strip to prevent the outside from
contaminating the pressing process.
The lower part of the tablet press is equipped with the main drive system, lubrication system and handwheel
regulating mechanism.The lower part of the machine is completely sealed by the seal strip of left and right door, back door and control cabinet to prevent dust pollution to the machine.

3.2 Working principle of high speed tablet press
The working process of the tablet press includes filling, dosing, pre-press, main press, forming, and ejection.
The upper and lower punch is driven by the turret to move from left to right along the upper and lower cam track respectively.When moving to filling section, upper punch moves upward to bypass the force feeder, at the same
time, the lower punch moves downward in filling cam, thus a negative pressure cavity formed in the die hole,
powder particles are fill into the die cavity by the mixing from forced feeder impeller, excessive filling is finished when the lower punch moves to the lowest point of filling cam.
Turret continues to rotate, the lower punch moves upward gradually when pass through dosing cam and it pushes the redundant powder out of the die cavity. Due to the large amount of materials in the feeder and the stirring
effect of the impeller, the powder in the die also underwent a compression process when it was launched, and the measurement of the powder volume is completed.
The highest plane of the dosing cam is the horizontal plane, and the lower punch keeps horizontal movement.The extra powder on the upper surface of the die are scraped out by the scraperto maintain the same filling amount of powder in each hole of the die.
In order to prevent the powder in the hole of the die from being thrown out, a cover plate is installed after the
scraper. Before the hole of the die moves out of the cover plate, the lower punch is just pulled down 2mm by the

pulling down cam , and the height of the powder in the middle of the die is also lowered by 2mm, so that the powder in the die will not be thrown out due to excessive linear speed.
After the die hole moves out of the cover plate, the upper punch gradually enters the die hole to cothe powder in the die and the upper and lower punch tip closes the die. This process ensures that the amount of powder leakage in the compression process is small and the filling amount will not change.
When the punch passes the pre-press roller, the pre-press action is completed.Then continue through the main press roller, to complete the compression action;
Finally, through the ejection cam ,upper punch moves upward,lower punch moves downwards,the tablet is pushed up and ejected into discharge chute, to complete a tablet pressing process.

3.3 Main transmission system
The main transmission system provides power for the working of the tablet press.The main transmission system not only provides sufficient torque but also speed adjustable, which is stable and reliable even in case of large
impact load.
The main drive system mainly includes high-power ac motor, frequency converter, synchronous belt wheel, synchronous belt, tensioning wheel, hand wheel, worm gear reducer, spindle and other components.
The main motor drives the worm gear box through the synchronous belt, and the worm gear drives the spindle, which drives the turret rotation, making the turret combination rotate around the central axis.
The main motor realizes stepless speed regulation over 10 times through frequency converter.

The variable frequency governor itself has intelligent control, giving full play to the functions of the frequency converter, and realizing the stable start, stop, overload protection, fault alarm, fault shutdown, speed and current display of the turret.
Adopt synchronous belt, reduce equipment noise.The belt tensioning mechanism can reduce the slip rate of the belt.

3.4 Hand wheel regulating mechanism
Facing the operating surface of the tablet press, a tablet thickness adjustment hand wheel, a filling adjustment
hand wheel, a pre-press adjustment hand wheel and a translation adjustment hand wheel are installed from left to right.Transmission process of each hand wheel:
The thickness adjusting hand wheel is used to adjust the distance between the upper and lower main pressure
rollers, thereby adjusting the pressure applied on the tablet surface, so it is also called the pressure adjusting hand wheel.
The filling hand wheel is used to adjust the position of the dosing cam, thereby adjusting the filling amount.

The pre-press hand wheel is used to adjust the distance between the upper and lower pre-press rollers to adjust the pre-pressure.
The translation handwheel is used to adjust the depth of the upper punch into the die. Rotating the translation
handwheel within a certain adjustment range will change the position of the upper and lower main pressure rollers at the same time. The position of the upper and lower punches also changes with the same amount of change. It
can change the forming position of the tablet, so that the forming position of the tablet moves up and down in the middle mold, so it is called a translation hand wheel adjustment, so as to prolong the service life of the die.
